I’m not a big fan of reading books and although in a span of 3 months I could only bare to read 60 pages. At a certain point the book became so engaging that I couldn’t drop it until I finished it, and I’m glad I did.
The book has a lot of heart and horror. And although it might be a grind at times it’s definitely a worth wild read.
This was my first Stephen King novel to read. I didn’t expect it to take the turn it did. I was kind of let down with what ended up really happening. It started out great and honestly ended great as well, but I just wish it all went down different, with a bit more terror or gore or something.
After finishing this book, I think it could be the scariest one I’ve ever read. The premise of knowing you’re innocent, but that there is proof positive evidence of you guilt as well? Also, the crime thats committed... awful. I loved this book.
I thought the first 200 or 300 pages was Stephen King at his best. His first attempt at crime fiction and it’s brilliant. Then, the book turns into something else entirely, something I don’t love, and a supernatural element is introduced that just did not work for me. So, just a three star rating for me.
Mr. King is still the scariest Author out there! Unique in Everyway..page Turner from beginning to end..
The story is very interesting. I am glad that HBO is making a series based on this book. Looking forward to it.
literally the greatest book i’ve ever read. it is full of suspense, and will get you hanging off the edge of your seat.
Great book👍. Not a big reader, but couldn’t stop reading this book.
Couldn’t put it down.
This is the first time that I felt compelled to uh, provide constructive criticism. The narrator of this book needs to speak up. Way too soft spoken and overuses a hushed/whispered tone. It was exhausting straining to listen. Audiobooks should be spoken, not whispered.
I like Stephen King and have been reading his books for several decades. This story bored me. It was as if he couldn't move the story forward. I felt like I kept reading the same thing over and over again. The story could have been condensed. It really wasn't a story that held any suspense or surprises, you knew exactly where it was going.
